PROPERTY: The USGBC will retain the Applicant’s entry materials as long as needed to fulfill program requirements. By participating in the 2019 Leadership Awards program, Applicant grants to the USGBC an unlimited, permanent, nonexclusive license under which the USGBC may take, transcribe or quote from the materials, create derivative works and publish in any format for the 2019 Leadership Awards related publicity and publications.

PHOTOGRAPHS: Photographs submitted with the application become the property of USGBC. If the photographs are not owned by the Applicant, Applicant must obtain the rights from the photographer or owner to reprint the photographs without limitations. Ownership of a physical photograph is not sufficient. Photographers normally maintain the copyright of photos; therefore, the Applicant should confirm it has permission to copy and send photos to the USGBC for use without limitations. Any liability for copyright violation shall be borne solely by the Applicant, and Applicant agrees to defend, indemnify and hold the USGBC, its sponsors and their respective officers, members, employees, representatives and agents harmless from any damages arising from the use of such photographs in any manner whatsoever.

ORIGINAL WORK: The Applicant represents and warrants that the work is original, that its publication will not infringe on the rights of others, and that it has the full power to make this submission.
